The Daniel B. Smith Practice Excellence Award, in honor of the
first president of the American Pharmaceutical Association, is APhA's
premier practice award to recognize a pharmacy practitioner in any
practice setting, who has distinguished himself/herself and the
profession by outstanding performance.

APhA-APPM William H. Briner Distinguished Achievement Award in
Nuclear Pharmacy Practice must be an APhA active member, an APhA-APPM
Member, and must have made a significant contribution or sustained
contributions to the provision of pharmaceutical care within the
practice areas(s) represented by the section. This award was recently
renamed in memory of Captain William H. Briner, a pioneer in the
development of the nuclear pharmacy practice.

The award recognizes pharmacy practitioners who have accomplished a
single outstanding, distinctive achievement or accomplishment that
has promoted or elevated the standard of practice.

The designations of
APhA Fellows
is made to honor respective Academy members for exemplary service and
achievements in their professional area. The nominee must
be an APhA-APPM or APhA-APRS member with a minimum of 10 years
exemplary professional experience and achievements in professional
practice. An APhA Fellow also has rendered outstanding service to the
profession through activities in APhA and in other organizations.
Examples of service to organizations may include having held an
elected or appointed office, service on a committee, expert panel or
review board, or other relevant activities.
