Mo-99/Tc-99m generator was stolen from an unlocked courier's

investigating. "This event illustrates a serious
consequence resulting from a brief lapse in security, and should
serve to reinforce the importance that radiopharmacy delivery
staff must follow all security procedures." Posted by Jim

A little
information about how the Nuclear Regulatory
Commission is organized: The NRC is
headed by a
five member commission. The NRC is divided
into four regions and has various committees and
boards. The Advisory Committee on the Medical
Uses of Isotopes (ACMUI) advises NRC on policy and
technical issues that arise in the regulation of the
medical uses of radioactive material. The
ACMUI membership includes health care
professionals from various disciplines, including a
nuclear pharmacist. |
